Filip Marschall

In August 2022 Filip Marschall signed a new contract with Aston Villa FC.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper, who was part of the senior squad that travelled to Australia in pre-season, has been a regular for Villa’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams and was between the sticks for the side that won the FA Youth Cup in May 2021.

Last season Filip spent time on loan at Gateshead, helping them win the National League North title.

Academy manager Mark Harrison said: “We are delighted that Fil has signed a new contract. He played an important role in our FA Youth Cup run and had a successful loan at Gateshead last season”

Despite being just 17-years-old at the start of the 2020/21 season, Filip Marschall has been part of the U18 squad for the last three seasons. The English goalkeeper made his debut in the U18 Premier League in August 2018 against Arsenal.

Filip went onto play more games for Sean Verity’s squad during the 2019/20 season before beginning the current campaign with a number of strong performances as he continues his progression.

Filip has represented England U19’s made his debut v Germany in September 2021.
