Jackson Smith was born in Telford, England on 14 October 2001 and currently plays on loan for Walsall FC after joining them in 27 January 2023 from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Promising goalkeeper Jackson Smith signed his first professional contract at Wolves after progressing through the club’s youth system and has been with the club since the age of eight, having signed his first registration in April 2010.

Jackson, who has agreed terms until 2021 has featured in U18 Premier League fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers. Jackson also joined the U18 squad travelled to Japan to compete in the J-League under-17 tournament.

Off the pitch, Jackson is very academically driven and attended the club’s partner school, Thomas Telford and last year he became the first Wolves apprentice to attain the highest possible mark in GCSE maths – grade nine.

He is also the first Wolves Academy recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award, in memory of Mick Shaw, for attainment on and off the pitch in 2017.

Jackson has represented England several times, playing between the sticks for England at under-16 and under-17 level as well as earning a recent England under-18 call-up.
